I love everything about this cream and natural newborn session. This beautiful family of six is just amazing. I've know this mama, Lacy, since her youngest daughter was a tiny baby. I have loved getting to call her my friend all these years. She has a beautiful heart, and I'm truly blessed to know her. When she came to me about baby Wilder's newborn session, I was ecstatic! She ask for natural and raw, with minimal props and poses. And she also had one special request. She wanted an image of sweet Wilder on a log in the forest. I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and I was so excited for our up coming session.
We picked a beautiful cream backdrop to highlight the sweetness of baby Wilder. I gotta tell you, I already loved this little guy so much because I love his mama and family so much. But snuggling him during the session just made me love him so much more! He was so content to be posed, and he melted my heart. I even got to snuggle him after the session while his mama and I chatted. It was wonderful. He loved being in froggy pose (my favorite). And then we did my second favorite pose with him also called "tucked in pose". It looked like they are tucked in and snuggled tight. Oh and one thing about Wilder that just makes him that much cuter, check out that mohawk! It's fantastic!

You can't beat an adorable baby yawn! It trumps all things haha.
Since these were done at the end of March, doing an outside shoot didn't really work out because it's just too dang cold outside in Oklahoma in early spring. So instead of taking Wilder out to the forrest and finding a log to pose him on, I came up with a composite idea in Photoshop. And I love how it turned out. Scroll down to see it. It was my first time doing something like this in Photoshop, and it took me a while to really perfect it. I has watched several videos before and during the process. I truly love learning new things, and I was very excited for the challenge. (source for the digital background click here) Also, check out this awesome wagon prop that my dad made! He's really doing a great job with newborn props.

Family shots. They are easily becoming my most favorite shots from my sessions. There is just something so sweet and perfect about a brand new baby with their family. It melts my heart. My style for these is natural and raw. I want the focus to be on just baby. The background is skin tone so it all blends well. This family is extra special to me. I've watched these older siblings grow from tiny babes into this awesome kiddos. I had an idea for the sibling shot long before we did this session. I want to tell you, things are not always as they appear in the final image. During the sibling portion of Wilder's session, we had dad spotting baby brother under his bum most of the time, and for the end result, I had to photoshop out his hand. But I love the final images, so I wouldn't have it any other way!
The final image on this blog post is so special. Lacy has had 4 caesarians to birth her 4 amazing children. She is such a strong person. She asked me at the end of our time together if we could take a picture highlighting her scar. To me it represents her strength, and her love for her children.
Thank you Lacy and family for spending this special time with me. You are one amazing family of 6!
